Dear Friends & Family, Belated Happy Valentine’s Day! February has been a very busy month and we still have more than a week left. The last week of January found me in Cleveland, Tennessee with my friend Perry Stone and the Omega Center International participating in their annual Winter Reformation event. Over 2000 teens filled the auditorium, each anticipating that God was going to speak to them personally. I was requested to bring my large python Twinkie to the event. This made for interesting conversation considering the fact that the original snake handling movement in churches began less than 10 miles from Cleveland. This made for a very entertaining evening. As with any event that the snake is introduced at, the example is easily understood and quickly embraced (no pun intended) As I unpacked the message, you could feel the spirit of God beginning to move on the hearts of all in attendance. The altar call was a powerful time of encouragement and deliverance, with Jesus responding to each heart that softened before Him. The following Saturday morning I flew out of Atlanta to be a part of a missions event in my home town of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Although I have been an official “non-resident” for almost 20 years, I do very much consider myself to be southern at heart. Healing Place Church has been an integral part of my missions adventure since the early 90’s and to be able to partner with them in this weekend event meant the world to me.
As usual, I had the opportunity to bring out my living example “Twinkie” on the Friday night event. As he began to squeeze me you could hear the crowd gasp!
The Spirit of God was quick to encourage and exhort the hurting.
After returning from Baton Rouge I made my way to Sacramento, California to be a part of a youth event that has always been an incredible blesssing to me. Since 2000 ( yes, I had hair the first year) I have been honored to be a guest speaker at “Camp Paradise.” Young people from all walks of life have been a part of these events and I have watched many of them grow up before my eyes. The intimate enviroment gave lots of opportunites for personal one-on-one ministry, something I rarely get to do in much larger events. As He always does, Jesus showed Himself strong in the lives of all in attendance. Next weekend I will be staying home and will be the guest speaker at the San Bernardino Rock Church’s youth event. This is gonna be a blast! Pray for me!
I had the opportunity to go back home to Baton Rouge this month to be participate in HPC’S missions weekend. What an honor to encourage the church to “go into all the world”!
It was great to be able to have Joyce’s book available for each teen. They were thrilled!
