Dear Friends & Family,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I’m amazed at how fast each new year comes back around, especially as I get older. I returned from Brazil on the 20th of December and jumped straight into family preparations for the holidays. Shay’s parents came in town and Max flew home from Utah on Christmas day. We had a memorable time together laughing and enjoying one another. My previous two weeks in Brazil were just as rewarding. I have an incredible team and we throughly enjoy our time together on each trip. We began our outreaches in Bahia with two conferences back-to-back. These are churches that we have partnered with for many years and they always ask me to be a part of their events if my schedule allows. Each service was memorable as the the Spirit of God made his presence known in an intimate fashion. The gifts of the Spirit were in full operation each evening, words of knowledge and prophetic insight were precise, cutting the hearts of the recipients in dramatic fashion. I’m always surprised at how much care God takes when dealing with people corporately and individually. The ministry to each person was also confirmation to the church that God is awakening a generation to His plans and purposes in Brazil.

After our events in Bahia we loaded up our truck and headed south to the state of Rio De Janeiro. The total drive was 1000 miles, which can usually be done in one day, but because of traffic and poor road conditions it took us almost 19 hours. However, the wait was well worth it. We had the opportunity to connect with five new churches who had been trying to get us to come for over a year. The meetings were fantastic! God visited each service with His amazing grace. The altars were filled nightly with young and old, hungry for a touch from God! It never gets old seeing God’s heart of compassion for hurting broken people and the mercy He pours out on those who respond to Him in faith. Many of our meetings take place in established churches and the ministry to the members is appreciated. But I always let the pastors know if we are going to come and hold meetings, they need to be open for anyone to come and be a part of it. It is these “lost” members of the community, those who have been hurt and rejected by society and churches, who are the ones I want to speak with. As a result, our meetings are full of broken, hurting people who are desperate to hear the good news.
During most of our trips, we avail ourselves to other ministry opportunities that present themselves. We had a morning free and we received a call to speak at a juvenile prison in the city of Feira de Santana. This facility houses young men from the ages of 14-21 who have been convicted of murder. This was not your typical church crowd and their attitude and demeanor expressed the hopelessness they all felt. They had requested we bring the big snake and as usual it was the bridge God used to walk into their hearts. You could see His grace at work in their hearts during the message as tears began to flow freely. Leading many of these young men in the prayer of salvation was a moment that I won’t soon forget. The young men and the prison staff were overjoyed to receive the free gift we brought them, compliments of Joyce Meyer Ministries; it is a resource that can speak words of life over them long after we are gone!
“I have always been passionate about exposing the lies behind the spirit of suicide.”
I have always been passionate about exposing the lies behind the spirit of suicide. For the past seven years I have held numerous Life Events around the world. In November I was approached by my friend and Christian musical artist-JME Medina about partnering with her in her first anti-suicide event called Dark Escape. I was thrilled and of course agreed to do anything I could to help make this event a success. She had seen the impact the Sea of Trees video and had asked if we could utilize this powerful tool in the service. Held at Oasis Church in Nashville, Tennessee, this time of ministry proved to be a God-ordained partnership. Utilizing JME’s musical gift, the atmosphere was filled with the glory of God as our hearts were prepared to receive the truth of God’s Word. The altar call for freedom and deliverance was filled with hurting people who received His grace to forgive and live again. Jesus displayed His unlimited power to truly make all things new!
