Teens wept and cried out to God as they approached the altar. As we laid hands on those at the altar, God would heal and deliver one after another.
I just returned from Brazil, and I can say that this was without a doubt one of the most exciting series of events I have ever been involved with. As you know, we began working in Brazil in 2010, releasing our discipleship tool Youthbytes in Portuguese. Since that time, we have held over 350 meetings, reaching hundreds of thousands of teens with the Gospel of Jesus.
The trip last month proved just as rewarding as all previous events.Ministering in the state of Bahia, my schedule was packed with up to three meetings per day. Since this part of the country has hosted very few of our events, the requests for the snake were overwhelming. We were more than happy to oblige. The meetings had an incredible turnout and I attribute this to the fact that most teens are intrigued about a snake in church and want to see what is really going on.
The Spirit of God would begin to move and people would receive prophetic words of encouragement and words of knowledge.
From the very first meeting, the Spirit of God made Himself known to all in attendance. The good news of Jesus was presented and the altar call was made; it was at this point that everything changed. As people began to respond, the tangible anointing of God in the room increased exponentially. Tears and shouts of joy began to ascend as they received God’s grace. I commented to my interpreter when seeing the response that God’s grace and mercy have no limits and this is just the beginning of what God wants to do in the life of a generation.
Each event experienced an incredible outpouring of Gods presence. He honored the faith of all who responded to His life-giving Word!
Every event was a miraculous as the first. Young and old alike responded to the preaching of the Gospel, their faith opening the windows of heaven. On one evening as I was speaking about hiding from God, a drug-addicted, tattoo-covered young man came into the service through an open side door. I was speaking to the right side of the church and did not see him enter. When I noticed him, he was kneeling at the altar weeping. I asked him if he was ok and he commented in Portuguese, “ I have done too much and I don’t deserve this gift.” The crowd of over 1000 teens gasped upon hearing his words. I did not need to say anything else, God had used this young man’s words to open the hearts of all in attendance.
During our 2-week trip we saw thousands of young and old come into a life- giving relationship with Jesus, and countless recommit their lives to God anew. Thanks again for helping us reach a generation in Brazil.
